We welcome children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old and their families
We organize our 14 classrooms into groups of similar-aged children. Mentor teachers typically remain with groups of children for 2 years or more, and children, families and educators together create a community of learners.

Ages: 6 wks. to 18 mo.
Ratio: 9 children with 3 teachers or 8 children with 2 teachers (where one additional floater teacher is shared between two neighboring classrooms) |
Toddlers
Ages: 12 mo. to 30 mo.
Ratio: 11 children with 3 teachers or 10 children with 2 teachers (where one additional floater teacher is shared between two neighboring classrooms) |
Youngest Preschool
Ages: 2 yrs. to 3 yrs.
Ratio: 10 children with 2 teachers or 12 children with 2 teachers (where one additional floater teacher is shared between two neighboring classrooms) |
Older Preschool
Ages: 3 yrs. to 4 yrs.
Ratio: 12 children with 2 teachers |
Prekindergarten
Ages: 4 yrs. to 5 yrs.
Ratio: 15 - 27 children with 2 - 4 teachers |
Each classroom community develops its own culture based on the organization below. Children, families, and teachers develop consistent routines and rituals, respecting the diversity of individuals within the community.
My son loves Boulder Journey School and we do too. The teachers are great ,and the facility is beautiful and gently stimulating.

Before school enrichment in classrooms: preparing for the day, watering plants, feeding classroom pets, collecting and sorting materials from the studio, gathering books from the library, welcoming more friends… |

Class time: Exchanging ideas with families, friends, and faculty, attending group meetings, making decisions about the day, pursuing interests, working on projects, eating together, exploring outside, visiting the studios and theater, sharing stories, singing songs, revisiting documentation, going on adventures in the school and in the community… |
