COMPARISON OF ONE-YEAR AND MULTIPLE-YEAR PROGRAMS
The Boulder Journey School Teacher Education Program is designed so that it can be completed in one year (August through August). However, some candidates choose to extend their program. We have outlined sample semesters for each option to help you determine which program best suits your requirements. Please keep in mind that the one-year program requires in-state residency by the beginning (January) of the second semester.
One-Year Program Sample Timeline:
1st Semester – August-December
- Weekly 20-hour teaching practicum
- Weekly 5-hour seminar and recitation
- 10 credits completed as project work through the seminar
2nd Semester – January- April
- Weekly 20-hour teaching practicum
- Weekly 5-hour seminar and recitation
- 5 credits completed as project work through the seminar
- 6 credits completed through on-campus classes
3rd Semester – May-August
- Weekly 20-hour teaching practicum
- 12 credits completed through on-campus classes
** 3-credit student teaching seminar meets two Sundays in the first semester and two Sundays in the second semester
Multiple-Year Program Sample Timeline:
