2011 Boulder Journey School
Summer Conference

Classroom Experiences as Catalysts:
Contemporary Conversations Surrounding Early Childhood Education

I have learned endless new ideas and strategies for creating an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, supporting project work, creating collegial support for staff.

The presentations were rich and inspiring. I loved that most of them were facilitated by the school’s educators.

Thank you so much for opening your doors to us. What an amazingly insightful and profound experience I have had here these past two days. I valued being able to tour the school in a slow, careful and leisurely way.

Please know that I leave feeling invigorated, inspired and rejuvenated to propel my own individual practice forward. I look forward to sharing my excitement with my co-teachers, children and families.

I’ve worked in public schools for many years and the classrooms are often an onslaught of noise, intense colors and “stuff” flying off of the hallway walls. These rooms (at Boulder Journey School) have given me such hope that things can be different.

Your dedication to pushing yourselves as educators through reflection, research and collaboration is so inspirational.

Your space is beautiful, and the way you present the environment and use materials suggests many possibilities to try out. I don’t think I can express how much I am taking away from this conference.

These two days have made me feel validated, appreciated, hopeful and energized for the upcoming year.
